Still working on my 52 weeks of art, I got onto a series of butterfly pieces. The butterflies for each piece came from a Dover art book, but the remaining elements were of commercial fabrics. After completing a number of these, I started designing the layouts in Photoshop Elements. I scanned in some stencil designs and fabrics, and along with a butterfly image I arranged my design in layers. I printed the butterfly and recreated the layered image with fabrics, pens, and paints. The first picture below shows my computer design, and the second picture is of the finished piece.
