July 2013 Kaleidoscope

For this next kaleidoscope, my original image was of a butterfly that came from a Dover illustration catalog.  I actually created quite a lot of kaleidoscopes using butterfly images as they have such pretty colors and interesting lines.

I did the duplicate layer and cropping technique that I describe in previous posts.  For this one, I used the crop shape called Ornament 4 in the Ornaments category.  In looking at the image more closely, I can see that I duplicated the original layer twice and cropped it with the same shape but one bigger than the other, hence you see the extended shape in different colors.
